PARAS, APY & REISS, P.C.

A NEW JERSEY FAMILY LAW FIRM

Paras, Apy & Reiss, P.C. was formed in 1996 by Bonnie M.S. Reiss, Patricia E. Apy and Peter C. Paras to better serve the needs of their family law clients in New Jersey, and in interstate and international family law disputes.  The firm is devoted solely to family law matters.  Mrs. Reiss, Mrs. Apy and Mr. Paras share the belief that their clients are best served by a firm whose lawyers and philosophy center on representing the unique needs of separating and divorcing couples.  Since its founding, our family law attorneys at Paras, Apy & Reiss, P.C. have remained true to three guiding principles:

  1. All divorce cases are unique and require an approach that is tailored to their unique characteristics.  A “cookie cutter” approach will never do.
  1. Communication between lawyer and client is essential to attaining the client’s goal in a fair and reasonable manner.  Only when the firm and its clients communicate effectively, can their shared goals be achieved.
  1. There is no substitute for preparation.  Preparation is knowing the case better than anyone else in the room (whether courtroom or conference room) and is what creates the position of strength from which positive results flow.

In 2003, Paras, Apy & Reiss, P.C. was named to the Bar Register of Preeminent Law Firms by Martindale Hubbell and has maintained that rating every year since.  In 2016 and 2017 the firm was listed in “The Best Law Firms in America” (Metropolitan-New Jersey-Family Law-Tier 2) by US News and World Reports.  Firm lawyers are members of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, several county bar associations and the Ocean-Monmouth Family Law Inn of Court.  Firm lawyers have also been listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” by US News and World Reports since 2015, and have been designated as “Preeminent Attorneys” by Martindale Hubbell and “Super Lawyers” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine, both prominent peer review selections.

Frequently, firm lawyers are called upon to teach at Continuing Legal Education seminars, to write articles on a myriad of family law issues and to comment on current family law topics.  They have also been asked to serve on prestigious legal boards and committees on the national, state and local levels.

Today, the lawyers at Paras, Apy & Reiss, P.C. have nearly a combined one hundred twenty five years of experience representing the interests of family law clients in divorce, custody, support, domestic violence, and many other types of family law cases.
