“Today, U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers publicly announce the Tenth Edition of the “Best Law Firms’ rankings.  Congratulations to your firm on being included in this elite and extremely impressive group.”  The receipt of this email thrust Paras, Apy & Reiss, P.C. into the upper echelon of peer reviewed law firms.

Although the firm had been recognized as a “Best Law Firm” since 2017, Paras, Apy & Reiss was selected as a Best Law Firm, New Jersey Metro – Tier 1 in Family Law for 2020. According to the November 1, 2019 press release by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers, nearly 15,000 law firms were reviewed throughout the United States, but only 2,106 received a national law firm ranking.  That puts Paras, Apy & Reiss, P.C. in a select group.

We are even more proud of the fact that we did not solicit or campaign for this recognition.  It is the product of the high regard in which our firm is held by other lawyers – our peers – who were asked their opinion of us.  That is high praise, indeed.

This isn’t the only accolade the firm has received from its peers.  Every year since 2003 Paras, Apy & Reiss, P.C. has been named to the “Bar Register of Preeminent Law Firms” by Martindale – Hubbell, which has provided peer review information to lawyers and the public since 1868.  In addition, individual firm lawyers have been listed in “The Best Lawyers in America”, by U.S. News, designated “Preeminent Attorneys” by Martindale – Hubbell, and selected as “Super Lawyers” and “Rising Stars” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

When selecting a lawyer or a law firm, high praise from peers is an important factor to consider.  It means that, in our profession, the people in the best position to know the quality of our work have uniformly given us high marks.  Most people about to go through divorce have had limited experience with lawyers.  Selecting the right lawyer may just be the most important divorce – related decision to make.  Why not be guided by what lawyers think is legal quality?
